Full course description

Students with disabilities can face disciplinary action for inappropriate behavior and may need specialized services to address the behavior and keep it from reoccurring. The Individuals with Disabilities Act of 2004 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act informs how school districts should carry out disciplinary measures for students with disabilities. It is important for advocates to understand the discipline process in order to ensure that the student's rights are upheld and that they get the support needed to address the behavior.
